Things are finally starting to look a little more seasonal in this house. What great intentions I had to do all of this way before now, but...best laid plans!
I probably have enough junk decorations for two or three houses; one day, I suppose, I'll have to let some of it go, but then I never do the same thing every year. I just know I'd miss it if I didn't have it anymore!
The kitchen cabinets (four of them) have Dollar Tree wreaths and Hobby Lobby ribbons and bows; I'm certain that I saw this on another blog or on Pinterest (I'm not at all creative, but I can certainly copy!).
This Santa has been around for years; he decorates the front of the china cabinet this year.
Before I started blogging, I had no idea about 'coffee stations!' I've had this 'area' for years. The coffee cups are certainly Dollar Tree purchases, which were given to me by student during my teaching years! They're so sweet and festive! A Christmas plate holds assorted nuts; the Headmaster loves them!
The light fixture above the dining table has my absolute favorite sprays; they are glittered apples and pomegranates, with bronze-ish leaves. Not your typical red (which I used last year). Very earth tone colors; this is one of my most favorite things!
There is more to come, including the gum drop tree (if I can find it), some Fitz and Floyd, and a few other things. I just felt the URGE to get this up and going!

Nancy, It looks beautiful! I am so glad I found you!!! I have enough for two or three houses, too, but I DID start giving some of my stuff to the kids this year- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diana! I'm so glad I found you, too; your suggestion to use the 3M hook ON the mirror was perfect!!! Thank you million times!

Nancy, you have decked the kitchen out in fine fashion. I like that long bearded Santa. xo, Olive
ReplyDeleteThanks, Olive! He's really cuter than he photographed! I've had him for AGES!

Nany your decorations are so pretty! I have way to many decorations store as well. Like you I never do the same thing twice, so thats why I hang on to them.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Susan. I just wish I had a little more storage (don't we all)!

Beautiful (and I love that header!) I have decided to downsize the decorations and decided the kitchen would not be decorated. I am now rethinking that after seeing how beautiful yours looks. Now if only my kitchen was anywhere near this clean!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donna! But....HAHAHA....if you could REALLY see the kitchen, you would rethink that last sentence. Just moved stuff around for the pictures!

Nancy, Your chandelier looks lovely, as does your coffee station and your tin with the greens and white poinsettias. My favorite photo though is the header photo (love them all!) with the green and red trees!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beth! That photo of the trees was taken in the UP of Michigan last fall; the trees really were that color; one red one and the rest green--no photoshop there!

Hi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteYour house looks so festive and I adore the wreath on the door. I see you have a platter of delicious treats too - yum! I hope you will stop by for a visit.
I shall, indeed, Donna! Thank you for visiting!

Love your decorations and especially the chandelier. I'm following you now too.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments! The chandy is really nicer than it appears in the photos; I'm still trying to learn how to photograph! (I do much better outside).

I love how you have decorated your chandelier in your kitchen, and your coffee station is so cute and festive! The wreaths on the cabinets also look wonderful -- I love decorating the kitchen for Christmas! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy! I think I'm going to use your idea with the wreath on the cabinet door, mine is also a DT wreath:) I'm your newest follower too.
ReplyDeleteHello Nancy, you've done a great job with decorating! My kitchen is to small to put Christmas decoration like wreaths on the doors, so I put my wreaths on the doors in the hallway!
ReplyDeleteI just started with my own blog, Maria's Diary, and will be following yours from now on!
Thanks for sharing,
Lots of love & hugs,
Maria
It all looks so pretty, and I agree as soon as you discard some of those decorations you will wish you had them. Love the look of the coffee station all pulled together with the mini tree. Thanks for linking up at the Cabin this week:)
