Eye Candy @ The Farmers' Market

Jumping the gun, just a wee bit, but I can't wait to get to Wisconsin and the wonderful Farmers' Markets.  In addition to the larger markets, there are fabulous little roadside stands where the freshest produce can be found.  These photographs are from last year, but I'm sure this year the offerings will be just as appealing!

 Enjoy!

Always...flowers at the market!

Don't you just adore these colors?

And art, too!

  8. Nancy - I could not find your e-mail to sent this apology to you, but someone pointed out to me this morning that when I put the link to your blog on my Liebster Award blog that I linked it to the wrong blog. I am so distressed and sorry. Please forgive me - I never knew, until this morning. I have corrected it now and hope that this did not cause any problems for you!!!

    So sorry,

    Diane

  9. I was reading Diane's blog (http://confessionsoftheobsessed.blogspot.com/) this morning and she mentioned your blog. I clicked the link and it mis-fired and gave me someone else's blog. I sent her a quick e-mail and she fixed it. Before she had written back to say she had done it, I stumbled on your blog on someone else's blog! How about that for a coincidence!
I was intrigued by the name of your blog, because I taught in private schools that still had headmistresses and headmasters.
You've hooked me with the first post I read - Farmer's Market! I love them. I missed the street markets of Europe and when farmer's markets became popular here, I was so happy.
We don't have much in our markets at the moment. Our season is a bit later than much of the country. Last night we had frost. It will be another month before there is much local produce.
I'm following your blog and I'm looking forward to going back and catching some of the older posts. I'm sure there will be great ones to com. I'll link your blog to my Google Reader so I won't miss any.

    1. Welcome, Priscilla! Actually, I am a retired middle school (public school) principal; I thought 'headmistress' sounded a little 'classier'!!!!!! :) We will be heading to Wisconsin soon and this market won't even start until sometime in June; the photos are from last year. But, I can't wait! Thanks again for visiting and following!

  10. Hi Nancy
Just stop by to see what you were doing and I find gorgeous photos of my favorite thing to do - Farmer's Markets! We have a small, but very active market with fresh fruit, veggies, breads, cheeses, milk, eggs and even meat! There are herbs and garden plants to buy. this Week the first peaches will be in -I am a peach junkie! We have had strawberries for a while. I can't wait for the figs! Have a great weekend!

P.S. I never did figure out that Liebster award. I could not get it over to my site! Thanks for nominating me anyway!

  13. It all looks so wonderfully fresh, Nancy! I usually buy too much when ours are full steam, in Sept., Then I have to cook it all and feed the neighbors!

    1. Kathleen: I, too, sometimes go overboard; it all looks sooooo good! And you can't really plan too much because you just don't know what's going to be available. Oh, well...buy it, bring it home, and THEN plan the menu!

  14. Hi Nancy, Now that is what you call a Farmer's Market! Do you remember how much they were selling the bottle trees for? Also, the new Goodwill Store is in Zachary. I don't really get all the way to Baton Rouge a lot so I was happy when one opened there.
